Newsletter - Week 1, Term 3 2024

Writer: AmandaAmanda

Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, I are delighted to share that the new term has started on a very positive note. Your children have returned with great enthusiasm, ready to learn and participate in various school activities. It’s wonderful to see their eagerness and commitment to making this term a success. We have a Science focus looking at the Solar System for term 3 and the Senior Room are also looked into electricity and electric cars. The Seniors have already been out planting some of the native seedlings they have been nurturing and a group went to the University of Waikato to further explore computer programming. Great stuff!

Wet Grounds and Cross Country Training—as winter continues, our school grounds have become sodden and muddy. With cross country training in full swing, we ask that all students bring a change of clothes and appropriate footwear. This will ensure they remain comfortable throughout the day after their training sessions and if they slip over at break times. And a number of spare clothes were given to students to use from our school supply last term and these haven’t been returned. Can we please have these back too.

Cross Country track—due to lambing season coming early this year we have to change our cross country track. More information to come. Remember the PTA sell food at the Inter School Cross Country. We really need your help with this. There are over 300 runners and their whaanau so it is a big fundraiser. All of our students run at the Inter School event and we do our very best to make sure you get to watch your child run if you are helping in the tent.

Learning Conferences—you should have received an email about Learning conference organisation. These are Wednesday 7th August and Thursday 8th August. School finishes at 1.30pm on Wednesday. There will be limited supervision available if you are unable to collect your child early but we would appreciate if you can do.

Whole School trip—as part of our Solar System learning we are heading to the Te Awamutu Space Centre in Kihikihi next Friday. Hopefully you have seen the permis-sion slip and returned this to school.

We look forward to a fantastic term ahead filled with learning, growth, and community involvement. Thank you for your continued support.

2025 term dates are on page 3 of this newsletter.

Kia pai to ra Whakataa, Have a great weekend.
