Principal’s Update
Kia ora Waitetuna Whaanau, it has been an eventful week. Inter school swimming event—our Inter school swimming team did themselves proud on Monday. It was a pleasure to take the team and thanks to the parents who helped out. A wonderful example of all of the Waitetuna Way values in action. Tryathlon
The build up to the Tryathlon with the bikes wasn’t as long as we have had in the past but children have been training round the school grounds and in the pool and what a great event. Everyone aiming to do their Personal Best. Thanks for coming to support.
Attendance Data
The Education Review Office Evaluation partners asked all schools for a particular analysis of their data and we have identified that only 45% of our students attended school for 90% or more in 2022. We know there are a range of influences but this means that students had more than one day away every fortnight which is something to think about. With Covid not so prominent we are really hoping to support families in everyway possible to get students to school. We also understand that when children are sick the message is stay at home.
PTA Meeting
Monday April 3rd—7pm—On Zoom or in person at school— please come along and hear the projects that are in the pipeline—big and small! Due to your amazing fundraising last year the PTA has purchased the trampoline (coming soon), Education Outside the Classroom payment for each student, and a standing table for the Senior Room and more plans to come. We need your input.
Have a great weekend. Ngaa mihi Amanda and staff
